MD chisels are made of high quality special tool steel and especially hardened to fulfill high requirements. To minimize the wear and to optimize the use the chisels are forged. In this way the material grain structure is not disrupted but hardened. This ensures a long lifetime of the chisel compared to mechanical treatment. After forging the chisels undergo a special hardening process to obtain the optimum values for hardness, durability and breaking resistance. The hitting surfaces of the insert ends are manufactured with high tolerances and are in right angle to the tool axis. This ensures the optimum energy transfer from piston to chisel. |
